The Team

We believe that our success is built on the strength of our front-line team, which is why we’ve structured our business to foster a supportive work environment and retain employees who are truly invested in our company’s success. Unlike many businesses, our full-time cleaning technicians are employees, not subcontractors. We cover the cost of their supplies, uniforms, training, and drive time, and we also provide then with comfortable local housing.

Thanks to our software, we’re able to stay in continuous contact with our team, ensuring we’re always on top of property management and able to accommodate any special requests you may have.

Founder.

Natasha grew up on an organic farm near Ladysmith, a small town on Vancouver Island, where she was influenced by two entrepreneurial parents. From an early age, she developed a strong work ethic and a passion for improving operations—traits that have stayed with her ever since.

At 17, Natasha began working as a housekeeper and residential cleaner, which sparked her interest in hospitality. She later pursued studies in Hospitality Management and gained experience in various hotel departments, where she honed her understanding of the key elements that drive a successful business: adaptability, communication, and quality.

In 2018, Natasha founded Valley Suds n' Stays, a cleaning and property management business. That same year, she purchased a home in Radium Hot Springs, where she lived upstairs and rented out the downstairs space on Airbnb. The following year, Natasha welcomed her daughter, Zara, into the family. During this time, she personally handled most of the cleaning, but as the business grew, so did her team—expanding to 20 employees during peak seasons and housing up to 14 cleaning technicians in Radium Hot Springs.

In 2024, Natasha and her partner, Darren, decided to narrow their focus solely to their managed properties, while their local cleaners took over the majority of the cleaning clientele. Their former staff continues to assist with the cleaning of the properties managed by Valley Suds n' Stays.

Now living in Edgewater with their two daughters and cat, Theo, Natasha and Darren continue to run their business with a commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.

The All-Around-Troubleshooting-Guy.

Darren is from Kingcome Inlet, a remote (accessible by boat with no roads in or out) and tight-knit community on the West Coast, where he quickly learned the value of resourcefulness—up there, you had to solve problems yourself. With many years of experience in the fast-paced food and beverage industry, Darren understands that timing and organization are essential to success.

During our busy summer months, when back-to-back stays and troubleshooting become a full-time job, Darren plays a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. Whether it’s swapping propane tanks, assisting guests with keypads, delivering linens when an appliance breaks down, or managing household notifications sent to clients’ devices, he’s always ready to step in and get things done.
When he’s not fixing faucets or repairing doorknobs, Darren is actively involved as a council member for his native band in Kingcome Inlet, staying connected to his roots and contributing to his community.
Working land acknowledgement: We are always striving to better understand how to honour traditional lands on which settlers conduct business. We’d like to acknowledge the Shushwap, and Ktunaxa First Nations traditional territories; as well acknowledge the Metis Nation of British Columbia.
